"The Children in Haiti" by Jennifer Rene
I have officially been in Haiti for two weeks now....time just flies by when you are having fun helping others. It has been go go go in every sense of the word. Today we went back to the Free Clinic to see how everyone was doing. When we first arrived, a little girl yelled "Lori Lori Lori." I quickly turned toward the voice and little Jennifer was standing there waving at me. I was super happy knowing that she was okay. Da Ai and I went to film her sing and her tent. She was very active today and talking like a grown-up. If I had not met her in the state that she was in at the clinic, I would have never believe it myself that it was the same little girl. I ended up spending most of my morning with Jennifer. We met her father and 8 year old younger brother, as well. The mother was off somewhere and would not return until later in the afternoon. Jennifer sang a beautiful song called, "Les Enfants en Haïti (The Children in Haiti)." It brought tears to my eyes.
Lyrics:
I love the children in Haiti
There are children in Haiti who suffers
It's a song
that is able to help all of the children in Haiti
The children in Haiti suffers
It's during when they see their mothers
and more when one looks at the children
Look at the children in Haiti
Whom suffers, suffers a lot
Yes, who suffers
Small little girl of 10 years of age, with many years of wisdom beyond her age. Thank you for the song....the world is hearing your call and feeling your pain...keep hanging on my little one....
